Hazard Recognition

 

 

Employees at all levels must focus on recognizing and eliminating safety and health hazards. Whether an unsafe condition or a created condition from an unsafe action, every employee must be actively involved in getting rid of hazards and exposures to hazards.

 

A major focus is housekeeping. We know poor housekeeping contributes to more than 70% of injuries at work. It is an unsafe practice that leads to unsafe conditions. Housekeeping excellence can be measured and demonstrates better work practices, more efficient practices, and fewer to no hazards.

 

We help employees at every level change from a compliance mode - will OSHA or MSHA give me a citation - to a hazard recognition eye that removes hazards and their exposures. Eliminating hazards creates a safer and healthier work environment and employees.

The Right PPE

 

 

Once hazards are recognized and addressed, it is also important to recognize that not all hazards can be eliminated. When a recognized hazard still exists and employees still have to perform tasks with those hazards present, the right solution for the specific task imust s found.

 

More than 80% of all eye injuries are caused from a lack of wearing PPE or from wearing the WRONG PPE for the assigned task. For the manager and the employee to know and use the right PPE for the task immediately reduces the exposure to the hazard(s), which reduces the employee's risk of injury and the manager's risk of production loss.

 

We help identify the right solution for the assigned task. We don't sell PPE but we know what is effective along with the need for it to fit properly and be as comfortable as is feasible for the wearer.

Task Training

 

 

Employees and managers must know how to properly perform tasks. Integrating safety/health into SOPs ensures the optimum level of safe, productive, and efficient work practices are performed.

 

Employees and managers who do not fully understand their tasks or roles are prime for injuries and lawsuits. Hazards are actually created, shortcuts become acceptable, and any safety culture in place can be destroyed along with employee morale and satisfaction.

 

Of course, not knowing how to perform tasks properly also leads to poor quality of product or service, endangering the very core of the business itself.

 

We help identify shorfalls in the training and assist in training and developing a system for future training that an employer can conduct in-house.
